Salway Ash, Netherbury & Melplash Coronavirus Support Group

A group of local people have set up a support group to help those within the parish who are having to self isolate. The idea is for them to be able to collect shopping, medication and post mail, as well as being able to pick up the phone to check on one another. Information on how to access this support will be posted through doors.

DO YOU (or someone you know) NEED SUPPORT?

Text or call any of the numbers below or contact us via email, Nextdoor or Facebook. We are here to help everyone – not just those self-isolating.

CAN YOU OFFER SUPPORT?

• Even if you are self-isolating you can still help with friendly calls or putting helpers in touch with those who need help.
• To get involved either call or text any of the numbers below, email or leave a message on either the Facebook or Nextdoor page.

HOW WE CAN HELP YOU

• A friendly phone call. If you would like someone to give you a call to check that you are OK or just for a chat then we can arrange that.
• Collecting and delivering shopping. At this time more than ever it feels right to be supporting local businesses. Many of the local shops will take orders over the phone or via email and we can then arrange for these to be collected for you. We are working on a list of shops which can do this and will get that distributed and shared as soon as we can.
• Picking up prescriptions or medications
• Dog walking. Current advice is that if you are self-isolating & feel well enough to do so there is no issue with getting outside for exercise providing that you keep away from others. If not, we are sure we can find willing dog walkers for you!
• Collecting take-away meals. In addition to the usual take-aways some local cafes, restaurants and pubs are currently offering a take-away menu so there is a good choice out there.
• Topping up electricity or gas keys
